he Global Challenge is extremely proud to present the winners of the 2008-2009 competition. Individual awards included international travel, tuition at the Governor’s Institute on Engineering at the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences University of Vermont, and cash scholarships.

Four categories of special recognition were created: Best Global Business Plan and Best Technical Innovation Plan awards were determined by internal and external judges’ scores based in both a detailed rubric and overall judgments of quality and completeness. Best Explorations awards were based on the number and quality of submissions. Best Overall Score combined all scores, documentation, surveys and the submission of a “Patent Application” to the program web site.
