2008 Announcement

The Global Challenge is extremely proud to present the winners of the 2007-2008 competition. Ten teams were selected as a “Top Ten Seminfinalist.” Individual awards ranged from $50 to over $3000 and included international travel, tuition at the Governor’s Institute on Engineering at the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences University of Vermont, and cash scholarships for any college in the world. 

Four categories of special recognition accompanied the “Top Ten Seminfinalist” status. Best Global Business Plan and Best Technical Innovation Plan awards were determined by seven judges' scores based in both a detailed rubric and overall judgments of quality and completeness. Best STEM Explorations awards were based on the number and quality of science, technology, engineering and mathematics team explorations completed. Best Overall Score combined all scores, documentation, surveys and the submission of a “Patent Application” to the program web site.
