Patent Office

These links are available in the Patent Office:

  1. All Submissions (all time)
  2. Previous year's winning solutions - 2006 ~ 2007 ~ 2008
  3. A Patent Application Form for your team. When your team is ready, fill out this form to register and protect your idea. You may submit an idea that builds on past submissions and other "prior art" by other people. If you do so, then you need to explain how your idea adds new value to the concept. Make sure that in your patent application as well as in your Technical Innovation Plan or Global Business Plan you credit the people responsible for the original idea!

Privacy and Precedence

The purpose of the Patent Office is for a team to lay claim to the key idea of their submission for the current competition. We encourage teams to register their key idea before January 30 and we have found that teams that can do so, go on to offer strong submissions. If your team's key idea is registered before another team's, then your team will get preference in the judging.

Don't registered a large number of ideas. Wait until you are clear about which idea you plan to submit, then register it. Teams only get points for one submission. Other teams may submit solutions based on your ideas if you do not. Teams are encouraged to build on the ideas of past winners and to find and utilize great ideas from anywhere. However, the team has to be very clear about what their "added value" is in the submission. We do not reward "reports" about what others have created or their innovations. We reward new innovative ideas created by your team!
