Student Activities

350 "parts per million" of CO2 is more than a number, it's a target for transforming the world we have into the world we want. In this challenge path, you will build a team that creates awareness in your school and community through any means. You can leverage technology and latest trends to create high impact awareness, reach a large number of people, and get your message to some of the most influential people you can engage. You can also get students, community members and leaders, corporations to sign declaration towards the 350 goal.

Here's what you can expect to be doing if you choose to work on the GCA-350 competition:

  • Build a team of four students from at least 2 countries and get to know your teammates, establish team working processes and be in regular communication with your team.
  • Brainstorm a campaign that helps spread the word about climate change or energy in your country and/or your teammates.
  • Plan all aspects of your campaign including the activities you are going to hold, who is going to do what, and how to advertise the campaign.
  • Carry out your campaign, capture it on video if possible, and assess the impact of your campaign on the public's awareness of your issue.
  • Consult with advisors and experts in the field to gain more expertise in your subject.
  • Work through all the challenges that we have provided to help you produce all the needed sections of your final written report.
  • Communicate regularly with your mentor to see clarity, ask questions, resolve team issues, and receive feedback on your work.
  • Review and score your work and that of your teammates using the GCA-350 rubric that will be provided to you.
  • Send finished challenges to your mentor for review.
